According to XDA Member Max Weinbach, AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge users can now enjoy Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience 9.0 on their handsets.
This is the first release of Android 8.0 for Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy devices, and it brings a bunch of new features and improvements. On top of all the new features that come with Android Oreo such as picture-in-picture mode, notification channels, background app optimizations, notification snoozing, and more, there are also plenty of Samsung-specific changes with Samsung Experience 9.0. This update also contains Samsung�s Bixby.
The build comes with the latest February security patches so all of the recently disclosed major security vulnerabilities such as BlueBorne, KRACK, and Spectre/Meltdown have fixes in place for them. The update also brings native support for Overlay Manager Service (OMS), the theme engine behind Substratum. Before, the Sungstratum plugin was necessary to apply custom themes, but now you should transition over to the Andromeda plugin which is more stable.
Want to install this update on your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge? Well, you�re in luck, as this update was pulled from the ATT servers and perfectly safe. This update is not a beta, but rather a pre-release build so it might be unstable. Currently, the only way to install this is if you have a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge on the latest update. There are no Odin builds currently available to flash, unfortunately, so this is the only way. If you feel that this is unstable and you want to uninstall it, you can use this file in Odin for the S7 edge and this for the S7.
