Hee is my video tutorial with all steps and details to create custom collections of filters in Filter Forge 7.Transcript
Hi guys, in this tip I will explain to you how to save time with custom filter collections in Filter Forge.I am running Filter Forge 7 as a standalone application. Exactly same options are available when running Filter Forge as a plugin with the host application. If you want to follow along look in description section for a link to download a free trial of Filter Forge.
When using Filter Forge for some specific task like to convert images to realistic paintings, for example, you will need to look in Library of filters and sometimes to scroll up and down in some category or even to try to remember filter name and to search for it using the search bar. Life is much easier with custom collections of favorites or filters which is easy to create.
To create custom collection scroll down in a top left section of Filter Forge and find Favorites. Right click on My Favorites and choose New Folder. Type some meaningful name like a Realistic painting.
The next step is to find the filter in some of the default libraries and to drag it onto collection. The collection will store information about a filter for easy access. Filters dragged onto collection will not change its original library, you can still access them and from default library.
Another way to add a filter to the collection is to right click on the filter then choose to Add to Favorites what will save filter in My Favorites.
To move the filter from Favorites into some specific collection click on My Favorites then drag filter onto collection. To remove the filter from collection right click and choose to Delete then confirm.
To delete collection right click on the collection and choose Delete. Confirm and that collection will be deleted.
Thanks for watching and cheers.
